I Love A Parade

Aunt Judy and her friend Scott came to visit this weekend. Since we were man-to-man on the kiddos, we decided to brave the crowds and take everyone to the parade this weekend.

They loved it.

Well, the first hour of it anyway. Then they were done. Fortunately, we had lots of snacks to keep them satisfied for the last of it. Food is the great pacifier around here!

The Jamba Juice smoothies were the biggest hit of all.

I'm finally convinced to spring for a blender and start making smoothies for breakfast. Anything to get some fruits (and maybe a sneaky veggie or two) into my kiddos. I insist they try their fruits and veggies at every meal, but being the Plate Police sure gets old. If you've got any great smoothies ideas or recipes, send them my way!

I'll try to get back to some regular posting this week, but the big boy beds are really cramping my blogging style these days. I have to police both the nap and bedtime, which has virtually eliminated all of my blogging time.

I'll share more details about the transition to big boy beds soon, so you can commiserate with me. Suffice it to say, if you are frustrated with getting your kids to stay in bed you are not alone. And you are not the first mom to think about using duct tape or a staple gun to solve the problem!

Hello,

my favorite smoothie is 3 bananas (I like them not too ripe), a small carton of apple juice (Minute Maid, the kind you can give a kid... the size I mean :)), the juice of 6 oranges (about 400 ml, sometimes when I'm lazy I use one of those fresh juices with pulp that you can buy in the shop) and a handful of frozen raspberries. I tried it with fresh strawberries, but something tasted funky.
This will give me about 1.5 litres of smoothie (I'm in Europe, so I have litres and ml in my system hehehe). I think this should be enough for 4 kiddos.

Cheers, Eva

LOVE the tropical trio from Keva - banana, few strawberries, peach juice and pineapple sherbet. You could probably sneak in a veggie like broccoli. It is sooo good.
