Godzilla Meets Tripletmania

Last weekend we got together with the last five couples in our local multiples group to have triplets. There were 12 adults, 18 babies from 3 months old to 9 months old, and four older kids ages 2 to 4.

Nope, it's not Babies R Us, just a small glimpse of the gear at Tripletmania!

Sam, Isaac and Alex are the oldest by three months, so no one else's children are truly mobile yet, though some are starting to roll over.

When we walked in and landed our big boys amongst the little ones it was like Godzilla storming the Japanese. Sam, Isaac and Alex all took off in different directions, crawling over little people as they made beelines to the nearest piece of furniture so they could stand up.

The look of panic on the other parents' faces at the idea of what was to come was priceless! I have no doubt they will all take it in stride, just as we did, because mobility does come gradually, thank heavens!

We had times when there were no crying babies, but around 7 p.m., as bedtime neared, everyone started to melt down. Of course, that's when we remembered that we should take some video and pictures before everyone left, so brace yourself for some wailing here!

No wonder the most popular spot in the house was right next to the drinks table!

Like Bees to Honey

Here's what happens these days when you come to our house and sit on the floor.



Amelia is giving her brothers "squeeze hugs" and saying, "I love you so much guys!" Too cute!

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go FASTER!

On April 30, I posted the video update on the boys beginning to crawl. Well, we're really crawling now! Even Isaac has some speed, though he never seems to want to show it off for the camera like his brothers.

Both Sam and Alex have started to pull up to their knees, and Alex was the first to sit up by himself, just yesterday. By a stroke of luck I caught his big moment on camera.

Alex sits up all by himself for the first time.

Isaac is within a whisker of sitting up by himself, and Sam's too busy crawling to bother sitting at all.

Mom doesn't get much sitting time these days, a pattern I expect to continue for the next few years!

I Can Crawl, Too

Here's a video just for all those of you who said, "Poor Isaac!" after you viewed the first video of the boys crawling. (Well, Alex and Sam anyway.)

See, Isaac's got the moves, too! Sam's the fastest right now, but I've got money on Isaac to be the real whirlwind of the group.

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

Here it is, ladies and gents: Video evidence that the boys are officially on the move.




Sam was the first to start crawling, and then Isaac (though he's not show off his skills in this video!), and finally Alex. Sam started deliberate forward motion early last week, Isaac was moving by mid-week, and by Saturday, Alex was in on the fun, too.

The big baby gate arrives next week, and watch for Nike stock to take off soon as I invest in shoes to keep up with this crew.
