The other night Amelia was saying her prayers before bedtime. As always she said, "The our Father who aren't in heaven."
She's been saying the Our Father like that for a while, and I have just let it go as she's worked out all the other words, but I decided it was time to correct her.
I said, "Amelia, I know it's a strange word, but we say 'Our Father who art in heaven.' That means our Father who is in heaven."
Amelia said, "But Mom, He's not in heaven. He's here with us."
How could I argue with that? "Aren't" it is.
