Yesterday Jeff and I went to see the maternal-fetal specialist for the first time. We had to meet with a genetic counselor first. She really wanted to show us how much higher the odds were that we'd have a baby with a birth defect because of my age. I pointed out that it was a little late for that since I was already pregnant. (OK, I was crabby. I already explained that I wasn't willing to take the risk of any of the screening tests, and that even if we knew we had a baby with a disability or defect, we'd still have the baby and love it. And yet we still had to sit through the statistical lecture on our odds.)
Once that was over we headed in for the mega ultrasound to measure the babies and look for any birth defects. I'm glad they didn't take my blood pressure. It was a very anxiety-inducing visit.
Thankfully, all is well. While the ultrasound isn't a guarantee that nothing's wrong, the doctor said everything looked great right now, and she doesn't expect to be at our delivery because there are no complications at this point. Great news!
The ultrasound tech said all three babies measure exactly on target. And, each one weighs 7 ounces. She suggested that we buy a lottery ticket for our lucky sevens!

All the same size-that's great. Keep up the good work and work it is.
Thanks for sending me the link to your blog - so excited to be able to keep up with your progress.
Happy Belated Birthday to Amelia, too!
